For Ewan Wilma, proprieter of Gameboats.co.za, the passion for boating and fishing started at a very young age.

His first deep sea fishing trip was at the age of 12 years and what started as bottom fishing soon ventured into gamefishing and the
quest for the ocean’s ultimate species has never dwindeled.

Having grown up in an active boating family, working on boats, tackle etc. soon became a real life interest.

After school Ewan took a boat sales position at an outboard retailer and before long repairing, rigging and fault finding led to him
taking up several technical courses relating to boat repairs.

Having outgrown the outboard ski boats, really big diesel powered sport fishers became the main focus.

Ewan has a sport and recreational skipper’s licence which he obtained at the age of 18 and a over 9 metre commercial licence which he has had for the last 10 years, having logged over 5000 nautical miles all around our coastline.

Several Transkei crossing have been made and tournament successes have been achieved as the skipper of luxury sport fishing craft:
